What we look for

CBM has put well over a hundred bats through the bench: in repair, in the nets, and in the kit bag. Before any model joins the rack we’re checking grain, heart-wood content, pickup, the ping off the middle, and how it holds up after a fortnight of net sessions.

Grade 1+: 8+ straight grains, minimal heart, near-flawless face. The cleft used in the Player.
Grade 1: 7–9 grains, small cosmetic marks, premium pickup. Stocked as the Supreme.
Grade 2: 5–8 grains, character in the face. Stocked as the Noir.
Butterfly: Honestly graded, properly pressed, ready for Saturday. Stocked as Butterfly Willow.
Secret: CBM’s undisclosed alternative willow. High performance, notably light, independently sourced. Not English willow; different character on the crease. Stocked as the Swift.

The Gooey range is refurbished bats from any maker, in any grade, brought back to playing standard at our bench and stocked at prices that fit any club budget. Repaired, refinished and re-stickered (CBM-branded, or original where we can) before they go back on the rack.
